For some time now, and especially since the 2016 Interim Review of Gaming Liberalization for Games of Fortune commissioned by the Macau government from the University of Macau, we have noticed more and more speculation over what will happen in the next couple of years in terms of casino gaming concession and sub-concession contracts under Macau law.

Macau's three casino gaming concessions will come to an end on the following dates:

Sociedade de Jogos de Macau (SJM): March 31 2020; Wynn Resorts (Macau) (Wynn): June 26 2022; and Galaxy Casino (Galaxy): June 26 2022. Casino gaming sub-concessions have no true autonomy from the concessions; they are fully under the umbrella of the casino gaming concession.
