In Egypt, Gide Loyrette Nouel became the first French law firm with a presence in the country after launching in the capital, Cairo. Senior partner Baudouin de Moucheron will lead the new branch.

In Germany, Linklaters opened its fifth office in the country in Hamburg in February. Two partners have relocated from the firm's Dusseldorf and Frankfurt branches to lead the new office. Jens Blumenberg is a tax specialist and Wolfgang Sturm is a corporate partner.
